« Family Biking from A to Z ... »

We're in the midst of some Pacific NW winter "struggs" (struggles, at our house) up our way. Freak snowstorms, nasty headwinds each way, biblical floods, what's next? I'm half expecting a flurry of "biking through locusts" reports (le Veltop's got me covered, might need zipties on the tires for traction). It rained so much the other evening that the cargo bin of our Madsen filled with 3 inches of water in 2 beers' time. I had to capsize it before riding home (must drill drainage holes). The weather has cramped our family biking style, but Drew and I still get out on shopping missions.
So blog fodder is a bit limited, and I'd like this site to be more than reviews and roundups. To that end, I set myself a blogging challenge: by the time nice weather rolls around, I'd like to have a "Family Biking from A to Z ..." series of alphabet posts up, eventually becoming its own section of the site. Hopefully a bit educational & inspirational for families new to biking with kids, and definitely celebrational. It won't rival Sheldon Brown's Bicycle Glossary (I'm an enthusiast, not an expert), but should be fun. To give credit where credit is due, most of the letters will come from the lovely flickr One Letter pool, just click the images for the original & attribution ... and please feel free to add to the lexicon in the comments for each letter.

Excellent! Looking forward to following along- Maybe you could make a poster at the end for the Kids room =).
Some family biking suggestions: C-Cargo bike, K-Kidical Mass, R-Rain cape... and many others but I'll let you be the Enthusiast Editor of Education for Everyone!
Yeah - K's going to be all about Kidical Mass. I'm hoping Anne at CarFreeDays and I can get one going this spring when the weather turns ...
