Totcycle | Family Biking

Tots on bikes, kids as cargo, family cycling, and other high-occupancy velo goodness.

Not caring how much our bikes weigh since 2008.

« Kidical Mass in September »

Kidical Mass Seattle will head South of the Ship Canal this month for Bicycle Sundays on Lake Washington Boulevard!

Next Sunday, Sept 13th, we'll meet at 2:15pm at the north end of the Lake Washington Boulevard (LWB) street closure (map), which is where Lake Park meets LWB, at Mount Baker Beach. Look for the blue bucket bike. We'll leave at 2:30, and ride down the closed-to-car-traffic boulevard all the way to Seward Park, where we'll enjoy a treat of some kind, as we are wont to do.

But wait! The bike fun doesn't stop there ... we'll also ride back up the boulevard and up into the Central District for a 5pm "Endless Summer" family-friendly bike scavenger hunt to benefit the Bikery, followed by an outdoor bike-in screening of Pee-Wee's Big Adventure!

Those of you who don't live in North Seattle - this is the Kidical Mass you've been clamoring for! And those of you who live up North are welcome to ride down with some of us, either from Ballard or from Red Square at the UW. Just contact us if you'd like to join up for the ride down. My kids will be asleep in the back of the MADSEN if the bike gods are smiling upon me that day.

Don't miss one of the last Bicycle Sundays this year ... Kidical Mass will continue, however, so keep sending ride ideas our way. And spread the word!

These two events should match up nicely - I am volunteering to set up the scavenger hunt so I am not sure I can make Kidical Mass but I look forward to crossing paths. Weather even looks good! -Tom

Hey! Got 'em, and much appreciated! I've been slowly getting a Summer of Kidical Mass post together, and thus haven't posted about the ride yet!
