« Missing Link Rally Report »
October 27, 2009 Over 260 people turned out on a crisp but lovely Fall day in support of the Missing Link. Build that trail! I'm so happy with how this event went - big thanks to Sustainable Ballard, Friends of the Burke-Gilman Trail, Cascade, and all the other volunteers.
The orange shirts and blinkies made a nice visual, we had an impressive lineup of folks along the road, and we got lots of friendly honks from motorists.
My wife and son Luc even wound up on the teevee news (watch it here if the embed gets hinky). Go Kimmi!
The afterparty was great too. Thanks, Dutch Bike Seattle! Mike McGinn (our next mayor, if we have any sense) stopped by the rally on his bike, en route to a Town Hall meeting, and stayed for some of the party.
Thanks to all the Kidical Mass families that made the scene! Drew was talking about you all night. Her bedtime story involved eating magic cupcakes with the KM kids after the rally. We stayed up kinda late (she was hopped up on hot chocolate). Here she is outside Snoose Junction Pizza talking you guys up:

Yay! Glad to hear this was a successful event. I've been solo-parent-in-West-Seattle a lot of this month, and am not getting out much, but I was there with you in spirit for sure.
Wow, looks like you guys had alot of fun! Congratulations on doing it all so successfully.
