O Madsenbaum, O Madsenbaum ...
The obligatory Xmas tree on cargobike shot, wide load version. There's also a baby under that tree, somewhere.
Unlike this fellow, we did pay for the tree. Thanks to CarFreeDays, the Wittwer boys, and the Fahrners and Folzes for the tree-hauling inspiration. Happy Holidays, cold days are here, I'm adding a merino codpiece to my Christmas list. What's on yours?

Nice! I rode my bike to the school's Christmas tree lot to do my obligatory volunteer shifts, but loaded all too many plastic netting-wrapped trees onto SUVs, and nary a one onto a bicycle or human-powered vehicle of any kind.
Obligatory volunteer shifts, indeed ... having recently joined a coop preschool, that particular oxymoron rings louder than a Salvation Army bell.
Love tree-in-cargo-box photos!
We have decide: cut our own tree which means take the car OR go local for a precut tree but go by bike & get our own tree-on-a-bike snap.
Love it!! Did you use the seatbelt to hold it in?
Yes - both sets of rear bench seat belts came in handy!
Nice Julian. BTW, I too have the obligatory Yulefiets photo for 2009.
Sweet, Allan - and congrats on the NPR piece this morning! But yeah - where was the Portland Sag Wagon link?
Oh I am so jealous of all the tree-on-a-cargobike pictures!
Looks like so much fun, as well as entertaining for the entire neighborhood to watch : )
